A HUGE PART OF WHAT WE DO AT LIGHT IS SCHOOLS WORK, REACHING YOUNG PEOPLE EXACTLY WHERE THEY ARE.
LIGHT's school initiative; Illuminate started touring 6 years ago across the UK. Since then we have been face to face with tens of thousands of young people in high schools all the way from top to the bottom of the UK, connecting them to Jesus and seeing them respond to the gospel. Journeying with them in the first steps of their faith on the AAA pass in groups across the towns and cities visited.
During a week schools tour we are face to face with thousands of young people in high schools across a town or city. As part of the week we communicate the message that these young people have a purpose, a hope, a destiny and a future. The artists cover topics ranging from mental health to anti-bullying. We have seen self harm blades handed in, suicidal thoughts turned around, and transformation across schools.
During an Illuminate tour in Stoke on Trent, we toured across 5 high schools, seeing thousands of young people and sold out the end of week 800+ gig venue.
We give the chance for young people to respond to the gospel at our end of week gigs. This is done as part of a gig & is communicated in a relevant way that young people can relate to and understand. We see hundreds of young people respond to the gospel at every week we have run.
We strive to not just give young people a chance to respond to the gospel but also find out more about the Christian faith and get plugeed into local church and youth groups. Each young person is followed up with a AAA Pass, our online discipleship resource, giving them access to the first steps of their faith & connect with their local church. Find out more about this here.
